You can install a Tether Tug in just a few minutes! Each Tether Tug Kit includes the pole, an in-ground base, and a Knotted Rope toy for tugging. Take the 18” in-ground base and use a rubber mallet to bury the base almost entirely into the ground*. As you are driving the base into the ground make sure you keep it vertical (straight up). After burying the base 2” to 3” place the pole into the base to ensure it is vertical and make adjustments if necessary. Remove the pole and bury it another 2” and check again. The in-ground base should be barely visible above the ground, so you can simply remove the pole after play time to safely mow over the top of the in-ground base. After you have fully buried the base insert the pole into the base and let the tugging begin!
* If you are having difficulty burying the base using a rubber mallet due to issues such as hard ground then using a heavier metal hammer will suffice ‘PROVIDED’ you put a block of wood on top of the in-ground base and strike the block of wood which will then drive the base into the ground. Do not strike the in-ground base directly with a metal hammer since it will damage it.
